Stone & Candle: Armenian Monasteries Book Presentation & Photography Exhibition in St. Leon Armenian Church
Join us to discover monastic structures, distributed over Armenia and Artsakh dating from the 4th century to 13th century. These monasteries, some of the earliest of the Christian world, were centers of education, where art and science flourished. They stand as timeless monuments of faith, devoid of crowds, open to the winds, and silent.
The exhibition will be an opportunity to learn from Columbia University’s Dr. Kim Hekimian about St. Leon’s initiative, which in collaboration with the Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR), aims to support the special needs of pregnant women, infants, and young refugees from Artsakh. St. Leon will match each dollar donated by parishioners and friends, through the end of January, up to $50,000. Proceeds from the exhibition will also be dedicated to this initiative.
Event is free and includes wine reception with hospitality.
